"Major construction visible and audible at 6:30 a.m. from hotel room"

Check-in was on one side of the resort and my room on the other...a long way to walk when you arrive late at night and can't find the front desk after driving round the resort several times. Fortunately they gave me a golf cart ride back to my building after I wandered in the dark on foot long enough to find the front desk. At such times I'm glad for my 3rd degree brown belt in karate since I am a mature woman who travels alone frequently on business and for competitions. Tip: look for the palm trees wrapped in lights and the big American flag when you first enter the resort from the freeway side. Some parts of the hotel's decor had an avante-garde 50's look (as stated in other reviews) while other parts had a 1930's bungalow look. and the resort is in the process of being torn down and rebuilt. The next morning demolition began before 6:30 a.m. outside my window (see photos). The room was clean but the bathroom fixtures were somewhat worn in appearance (see photos). The beds were tall enough to require some dexterity to climb up onto them for a five foot six inch woman. Food choices were somewhat limited for an early breakfast. My quiche came out cold in the middle and too hot to eat on the outside. The staff were great, which was the best thing that can be said about this hotel. Hopefully when the renovations are done things will change drastically.

"Personalized service at the best level"

We stayed here here for 5 days. Clean comfortable rooms. Service staff amazing. Great grab and go breakfast at The Market. Did buffet at the terrace cafe also good and staff so attentive. Great location to see some local attractions would highly recommend as we lost a very important item there that was very special to us. A manager, Ruben took a personal interest to help us and resolve it at no cost or trouble. You do not find that level of concern for consumers in too many places. The people the pool the food, all top excellent. I will stay there again without reservation. Do not hesitate to seek out the town and country resort personalized service !,,

"Highly highly recommend"

Awesome room, loved the outdoor pools, and dining on site. Close (walking distance) to the mall and trolley, and also less than 5 miles to the zoo, sea world... best of all their customer service is INCREDIBLE. I left my sons personalized name blanket there and realized it when we got home. After a few phone calls Ruben got in touch and was so understanding and shipped back on the hotel even though I offered to pay. He was SO SO kind (I might’ve even cried) and I’m just blown away at the experience. This will be our go-to for sure next time we’re in SD.

I stayed here only one night for a convention I was attending at the adjacent convention center. The Town and Country is a large, nicely landscaped property with multiple buildings. I stayed in the Royal Palm Tower, which was convenient to the convention center. My room was spacious and impeccably clean with a king size bed, a small sofa, upholstered chair, coffee table, a writing desk, mini-fridge, and a large flat-screen TV. It also had a balcony with a table and two chairs and a nice view of the pool area. The wall had a mural of a coastal beach scene. Not sure if I really liked it, but it was a little quirky and different. One nice thing about the property is the pedestrian bridge linking it to the Fashion Valley shopping mall, very convenient for shopping without having to move your car. The only thing negative about my stay was the check-in experience. The hotel lobby is on the opposite side from the building where my room was located, which I didn’t know when I first arrived. I tried to park in the lot near the hotel’s convention center, but was told I had to check in first on the other side of the property and obtain a parking pass. By the way, parking costs 14 dollars a day here. I had to turn around and drive to the other side of the place to find the lobby. When I finally got there, there was only one person at the front desk and he was pretty slow in getting people checked in. He wasn’t unfriendly, just not very efficient. Overall, though, I liked this place and would recommend it. I would certainly consider staying here again.

We book this hotel based on recommendation for AVID conference. My sink over flowed into the floor and was sewage. I left to go to conference and returned to this. No offer to move my coworker or my room. No apologies to my boss for this. Do not stay at this hotel.
