"There for Conference held at the hotel. It was not really pool season, but from our 10th floor balcony at the Palms Tow "

My husband and I was there for a conference. The hotel was deffinatly older and it showed. Landscaping was nice. The pool that we saw from our room at the Palm Tower balcony was disgusting and had green scum all in the bottom. Our room was OK, but nothing special really special. The rooms that the meetings were in were not all in the main conference center. That was not really a problem. The main resturant at the venue advertised by the hotel "The Terrace" that had the largest menu for all three meals was not even open. There was a snack bar area that had fresh fruit cups and prepare salads and sandwiches and some bakery goods. There was a sports bar and grill on the property named "Charlies" the food was Ok. There was a large seated golly car or what I call people moved was seen several times spreading through the complex and one evening my husband tried to flag them down to ask a question, but was traveling so quickly if I had taken a few steps back quickly it could have hit me. Over all was not impressed. Other hotels that this same convention was held at before were much nicer. We have stayed at other hotels in San Diego and had been very pleased. One was actually older than this one and was really kept up nicer and was cleaner too and cost less. It was very close to the Zoo and Balboa park. Only went to the Mall by the Town and Country Innl once and ate. Did not walk around the Mall as we were not there to shop and do not care for most malls anyway. My husband said he would not return to a conference held at The Town and Country Inn and definatly never stay at this hotel again.

I was having lunch at Charlie's during my room switch. When I tried to put my charges on my room their was a conflict. The front desk was not immediately helpful but Jeanne kept calling until she found the right person to confirm my stay. She was professional but very friendly and accommodating. She made an otherwise uncomfortable situation very comfortable. I am very happy to have had the experience with Jeanne. She also has the best suggestion for drinks. The veggie sandwich is so fresh and delicious. Pairing with the sweet potato fries is genius. Thank you Jeanne, I truly appreciate your help you are the best.

We stayed in the regency towers. I was attending a conference here. The hotel and conference center have several generations of buildings and style. Over all the landscaping and layout of the buildings and convenience were fine. The landscaping was particularly pretty because the hotel is located in a little dip and the palm trees grow tall. You are surrounded by several busy highways but don't really know it cuz you see trees and the hills surrounding you, but not the road. You can hear the road at night but it's not too loud. Someone has a sense of humor because there were displays of rabbits dressed in all kinds of garb (states, not real rabbits) and flamingoes. Beautiful rose bushes and succulants all around the place. Several good restaurants and a café. Parking was convenient to our tower. Check in was efficient. Staff was always pleasant. A walk across the parking lot, over a bridge, across a road takes you to an awesome outside shopping mall. The conference center was fine, like 'ok' fine, not super good fine. People complained of crappy wifi but since I wasn't trying to use it during the conference I didn't notice this. The rooms and the food served during the conference were all good. Ok, so that's the good stuff. Now for the room: Ick! It was 'ok' but also substandard. It did not smell, I was not afraid to sleep in the bed (actually I was a little but I examined the bedding and then decided I could use it) or unpack BUT the drapery was faded and stained, the wall paper behind the curtains was mildew and peeling--gross! I could tell that the tower had some good care but the room should not have been like that. I did fill out a survey and let them know my concerns (so hopefully this review isn't a surprise to them). And that is that: It's dated but that is part of it's charm, the room need work! I would attend a conference there, I would eat there, I would not stay there again. *I am having trouble with part of the review: The Hotel Ratings buttons only click on terrible (no matter which circle I click on), and I can't seem to change it. I did not review service as terrible and would not rate the other things as terrible so I didn't rate them.
