Took a quick weekend trip to San Diego to see a concert. The Sofia is located within walking distance of several attractions, Balboa Theater, Civic Theater, Little Italy, The Gas Lamp Quarter, etc. If you love smaller, boutique hotels, the Sofia will not disappoint. Lovely rooms with amenities, friendly staff and affordable. We will be back!

The complementary Sunday morning tour was great as was the little yoga studio. The hotel was rustic, the carpets, furniture, and fixtures a bit dated so if you want character over modern in a great location this one is for you.

My husband and I purchased this hotel while attending an event down in San Diego. Hotel lobby is beautiful, staff are friendly & accommodating. Checking in and out was super fast. However, our room was too cramped for my liking, the TV lost connection multiple times during a show & the shower did not heat up past luke warm. :( Those things are SO important to me. It kind of felt like smokes and mirrors because the staff created such a mirage of effortless luxury, but the rooms were more telling of a hotel in transition & in need of renovations. They do have yoga classes, tours of downtown & a beautiful restaurant below.

Amazing! Outstanding customer service! Beautiful boutique hotel with a great location. The staff will go out of their way to help accommodate you with anything you may need. Brian at the front desk is wonderful. Ivan at the concierge will make sure he takes good care of you and assist you with your luggage and checking out cruisers to ride around on for the day. Definitely will be back!

I would stay here again. There are caveats. The hotel rooms/bathrooms are small. Like Paris small. They a clean and close to the convention center. Free weekend tours, 2 bottles of water, and such. The bad is taxes and fees are not collected ahead of time. 150 dollar deposit/hold. Over All not bad. A good business hotel.
