"Fleas in room - ended up with bites over limbs - Management response laughable !"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed March 16, 2018 NEW
Bites appeared on my legs - and finally realized that it was due to fleas infesting the room. Complained was moved, and insisted the manager contact me. Took more that 48 hrs, with messages 'offer him 2 days refund' left with the desk staff. Had to complain to office, and was palmed off - and only through persistence did I finally get a refund. The manager passed on the complaint to their insurance who sent me a letter saying there was no claim for injury. The response will be a case study in a number of international MBA business schools and local press, on how not to manage a guest's complaint, when the hotel is clearly at fault - you have a hotel infested with fleas, and a manager who cannot fathom the seriousness that it takes 48 hrs to make time in their busy schedule. Appalling hotel, appalling management, and appalling behavior and response. DO NOT STAY HERE !!

"Family of 5 enjoyed our stay"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

Was scared because of bad reviews I saw a few months ago. Thank goodness our experience was great. Clean rooms, very clean bathrooms, lots of space. The kitchenette was clean and nice. We stayed three nights, had three kids and two adults. 6,5 and a 1 year old. The kids got their own room, baby in the living room area in a crib we brought and my husbad and I had the master bedroom. TWO FULL BATHROOMS! Everyone had a nice flat screen with Direct tv to use. Made our trips to Legoland and back very happy. Was very nice and good for the price. The front desk can be a bit rough but they tried to help when they could. So for our family it worked out well and we would book that room again. Oh fyi, the free breakafast was OK, bacon is only on Saturday, then sauage patties on the other days. The bagels were good, coffee, juice good but the eggs only the baby would eat. Long line for the waffles but they were there. For a free breakfast it's OK better then the free you normally get but they need to fix those eggs and have two waffle makers so the line isn't so long. Also it got really crowed at times, had to fight for tables to sit at some days. Again been to many hotels in the area for FREE the breakfast was better then most.

"Nice rooms, inner courtyard and walkways shows its age, needs refurbishment"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed March 13, 2018 NEW
The rooms were nice for the price, and when it came to room lighting, this was about the best it gets with regards to balance of direct lighting, for reading in bed, and indirect lighting, to light up an entire room. The bedside wall lamps each had 2 electrical outlet and a direct USB port, each side of the bed. This facility spends time and money in the breakfast offerings, both in terms of food offerings, as well as making sure everything is available from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM each day. It's a definite cost and time savings to have a complete breakfast on-demand, come and go.The inner courtyard walkways would look very nice if they were patched, and stained with concrete color. The inner landscaping would look very nice refurbished, perhaps with drought tolerant plants, there were a lot of bare spots, again, I think just from the age of the facility. The cardkey door locks were troublesome, not just to me OR my room, and they need to be replaced facility-wide from magnetic stripe cards to chip-based cards. The magnetic readers hardly functioned the first time around unlocking the door, and time is wasted by the office personnel who come to help, or have to give you a new key. It's a very good location for travelers, just off of I-5 one block, close to eateries, The Carlsbad outlet, and the restaurants near the outlets. The rooms were very nice, the balance of the facility needs to come to par to the rooms, which have microwave, refrigerator, large closet, large work table / dining table, and nice newer paint.

I stayed here for a family wedding thinking the Ramada was a nice mid level hotel. I was wrong. Kept losing satellite tv service, the room had an unpleasant odor and the whole place seemed run down. The front desk staff was very nice. The breakfast was poor at best. Could hear everything from outside, all conversations and people wheels by luggage around.

Pros: Great location between LA and San Diego. Walking distance to beautiful beach. Nice Pool and hot tub. Nice staff. Cons: A little run down and outdated. Some days our room didn't get cleaned. Overall it was a good hotel to stay at with kids. good pool and hot tub, good breakfast, good service, and great location.
