"Great for families"

This was probably the coolest 3-star hotel I've ever stayed at. It isn't luxurious, pretentious, or fancy, but was a lot of fun, had spacious themed rooms, and the free breakfast buffet was pretty good. Ate at the dinner buffet as well and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It had everything we wanted to eat and catered to our 2 year old as well. Didn't get to use the pool since our trip was so short, but loved the proximity to Legoland and the catering to families and kids. My son loved the bunk beds and kids area of the room. It is expensive to stay here - so that is a negative, and best if you have at least two kids since the rooms are suited for families with multiple children.

"Themed room was fun but so noisy don't plan on sleeping!"

We went to LEGOLAND Hotel for three nights. The place is a zoo which is to be expected with a kids hotel but there is nowhere quiet for adults to go hang out. The poor design has the hotel entrance hall and the restaurant line ups all in one place so very crowded to get through. The themed room was cool but the beds were so soft and uncomfortable and need replacing. Also, the quiet hours are supposed to start at 10pm!! What kid should be staying up til 10pm after a full day cruising around LEGOLAND? My kids had a very hard time sleeping with all the noise in the hall (and we were near the end) so made for grumpy kids. Some maintenance needed in the rooms and the service in the restaurant was not good at all (the food in Skyline is good though) but we were pretty much ignored both nights we ate there. Had to search for our server to get drink refills the kids dessert and the bill. Nice to be onsite but next time we will not stay here - for the price it is too noisy and the buffet breakie is lacking in quality.

"Amazing Lego Adventure"

It's more than just a hotel room, it's an experience and an adventure. It may seem pricey, but you get so much in return. The price for the hotel stay is worth every penny! Breakfast is included with each evening that you stay at Brick's Family restaurant. It is a full buffet with a section for kids, and a section for the adults. You get most of your money back just by going to breakfast. The hotel also has a ton of activities for kids during the afternoon/evening after you are done at the theme park. There's a storytime, a dance party, a couple of play areas to name a few of the activites. The kids also get to do a scavenger hunt for a code to open up a treasure chest in the room where they each get a surprise lego set everyday that you stay there. I would definitely suggest families to stay here if they can do so.

"Great for Kids, Exhausting for Parents"

You know how how, in Disney parks, they put a lot of effort into making not just the kids’ experience great, but also the adults’ and the entire family’s experience fabulous? Well, Legoland isn’t like that. It’s planned 100% around the kids, and they expect the parents to be on watch, on guard, and on duty at all times, no breaks, no nuthin’. In the pool, you have to swim with any kid under 48” (or the kid has to wear a lifejacket) regardless of the kid’s swimming ability. On the special, $20/20-minute s’mores adventure add-on, a parent had to accompany each kid. In the play areas, there were myriad signs emphasizing that parents had to supervise their children at all times. The hotel does not offer a second of escape for weary parents, and their activities are designed in such a way that it increases the parents’ workload. The park is no different, as some of the tamest rides required a parent to accompany the kids on the rides. So, I have to admit, that aspect of Legoland was disappointing - there’s such an opportunity there to make the hotel and park a fabulous experience for everyone, but they choose to focus only on the kids. So, our girls, 5 and 7, had a great time. I (the parent) had to sleep for almost an entire day after our return. That said, we did get a ton of help during mealtimes from Alison in the Skyline Cafe, who made sure the girls were happy and having fun; not spilling too much; and when they did spill, she was right there to clean it up and assure us that it happens all the time and we didn't have to apologize. As for the hotel itself, our room was dirty when we arrived, with crackers ground into the carpet in one spot, so we only hoped that the sheets had been changed. The smell in the hotel is overly strong, with various air fresheners being used in different areas. The pool was absolutely miserable, for both parents and kids. They have a rule that any kid under 48" has to either wear a lifejacket in the pool, or have a parent in the pool with them with a parent within arms' length at all times. My 5-year-old, who lives on our boat and swims in the Pacific Ocean almost every day of her life, is not 48", and she was devastated that she was being asked to wear a lifejacket. We asked if we could test out of the requirement, and the lifeguards told us no. So, although I didn't want to and it was a cold day, I agreed to go in the pool with her so she could swim freely without the lifejacket. I watched her LITERALLY swim circles around and under other kids who were taller but could barely swim. It was infuriating, and we didn't use the pool a second time. Also, I don't recommend the laundry service - they lost two of our shirts. Although they were eventually recovered, it took a phone call and several hours.

"The hotel and staff MADE Legoland even better!"

It's hard not to be impressed just walking through the front doors! The kids were so excited from the moment we pulled up. We had a great check-in experience, and the room was perfect for our family of 4. My biggest fear was eating at the buffet with 3 of us having severe food allergies (Celiac). Chef Kenna was AMAZING!! She showed us exactly what foods in each station were GF (and most of the foods in the stations were grouped, so we were able to avoid one whole station and didn't have to worry about cross contamination.) Whatever we were not comfortable taking from a station, she was willing to bring from the back. She then made us our own pancakes, muffins, yogurt parfaits, French toast, and toast. I was so impressed that we booked our supper at the Bricks Buffet too, and Chef Dan was great too! We were stuffed!! When I asked my kids what their highlights of the stay were, they said: the disco in the elevators, the Lego left in the treasure chest in the room that they got to take home, the Lego that they could just build with whenever we were walking through the main lobby and entertainment area, and the dance party in the evening. They also really enjoyed the characters that were dressed up and interacting with the kids. IF I had to pick something that was lower quality than what I was expecting, it would be the hair dryer in our room. It did the job, but it wasn't as nice as the ones I have used in other hotels. (But it is pretty sad if that was what I was basing our stay on.) We stayed in the pirate themed room.
