We booked a VIP tour as we are not fans of having to queue up and crowds and thought the experience would be more personalised. We arrived early around 8am and it was really good. There were no crowds at all. We walked straight through the gates and followed the signs to the VIP access area. First stop was the included continental breakfast which was really yummy with a selection of pastries, fruits & yoghurt among other things. The tour began with a backlot tour. No crowds or queuing whatsoever. It was pretty cool with 3D glasses on we saw a simulated King Kong, Dinosaurs and Fast and Furious. We saw a crashed real 747 plane set used in various movies, Jaws, the movie setting, the props that are used in various shows held in a warehouse and a few other scenes from different shows. You can actually see the backlot tour on Youtube which I had done previously. Our tour guide was quite young and had a fair sprint in her step so it was a bit difficult keeping up with her at times. So much so that after the backlot tour we decided to go solo. It was starting to get busy also but that was OK as we had the VIP passes which meant we didn't have to stand in the crowds to see the other attractions. We enjoyed the animal show and a special effects show where we saw a guy get put on fire. That was pretty awesome. After that we had lunch (also included) in a lovely restaurant with buffet style hot and cold food. After lunch we were pretty well worn out so decided to call it a day. We are an older couple and to be honest, if I had the choice again I would not go to Universal. It is great and more suited for younger people and families (although I did see quite a few very tired youngsters crying & worn out mums and dads by the afternoon). We went because our travel agent highly recommended it. But he was young also. We are in our mid 50s. The day was also quite warm.

"Wet Visit with Advantage!"

I spent a wet day at Universal studio’s but found this was advantageous as the queues were shorter. It was however difficult to take photos and vision on some rides was difficult due to the rain. I managed to see everything I wanted in the 6 hours I was there. If you love thrill rides and the film industry, this is the place for you!

"VIP is the way to go"

Since we had never been here and didn’t know our way around we decided to splurge and go VIP. Worth every penny. They serve an amazing buffet type breakfast with all kinds of things. The tour was amazing and fun. You also get a buffet lunch with things like crab legs, Lobster, filet mignon and even chicken strips for the picky eaters. On the VIP you get a little more than a regular tour which makes it nice. And then your personal tour guide takes you around to all of the rides and you go right to the front of the line. Most of the rides are the virtual reality rides. So they are amazing and creative. But if you get motion sickness it may not be for you. This was a huge highlight of the trip for our kids. Being VIP for a day made their day!

I just finished writing a long review only to find that what I wrote was apparently just a rough draft and my comment no longer appears. Check that out Tripadvisor. Lot of work on my part for nothing. Anyway, had a great trip here with a 12 and 8 year old. Tours, rides, food, cleanliness of park, everything was top notch. My only problem was that my 8 year old was reluctant to go on many rides which she found scary. She loved the rides she went on, but also got car sick on them. I had 6t long hours caring fer her when we got back to our hotel. Not the park's fault, but something for the adults to think about.

"Fun Day"

Loved Harry Potter world. If you come in fall and winter you can have hot butterbeer which is amazing! Frozen is good too!! All the rides were fun. The transformer ride was a little jerky though so not sure if I would go on that again. The studio tour was awesome!! On our tour we did 2 360 experiences and that was my favorite thing. The waterworld show is a lot of fun too! I think the donuts from the Simpson area is the best deal. You get this gigantic donut and I think it was only $5.99. The mother nature burger was pretty good. My husband got the Krusty burger, but he didn't like it. Fries were decent.
