We loved the animal shows. My 2 year old loved Biff with the seals best. It was a little disappointing there were not more rides for the big kids.

"Sea World .... everything we hoped for and more!"
July, 2018 NEW
My niece and I had never been to any Sea World before so we did not know what to expect. The shows were excellent. They were just the right length to keep us entertained on a very hot day. The shows are both entertaining and educational. Every staff member, from the animal trainers, to store staff, to food service personnel were all very friendly and helpful. The only factor that kept us from rating the experience a “10” was the lack of organization at one of the inside restaurants. There simply was not enough people working in the kitchen to accommodate the long lines of customers. Everyone was working extremely hard. They just did not have enough workers.

There is so much to see at SeaWorld San Diego. I think if we had more time, I will prefer to spend two days there instead of one. Bought the all day and inclusive passes online (with discount) at SeaWorld's website for me and wife. I think it's worth it since the pass gives you all day eat free at most of the the restaurants and reserved seating at most of the shows. Also, front of the line access for some of the rides. This is a huge plus for those who loves to catch rides in the park. We caught Uber to SeaWorld from our hotel the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Less than half an hour ride. The experience - overall it was a very fun filled day. Got to see almost all the shows. Especially love the dolphin and Orca shows. Got reserved seating in the front 10 rows. We sat I think was row 7 or 8, thinking if we gonna get wet, shouldn't be too bad because we're not all the way in the front row. Oh boy, that was a mistake, especially for the Orca show. Their big tails splash a lot more water and further than the dolphins. At the dolphin show we got a few small wet spots but at the Orca show, we were soaked. In a fun way, of course. It's an experience. We were warned before hand to cover anything that you don't want to get wet, but like many others, we just didn't think it will be that bad. LOL. The worse was to see a baby, I think probably less than a year old, get splashed. The baby was crying as you could imagine. The parents, from their look, had no idea this could happen. Well, they know better next time. The food was okay. I think we definitely got our monies worth. Had 3 meals throughout the day. The third meal being close to park closing. Before that we caught the Bayside Skyride. I think if the park closes later like close to sunset, this ride would be much more nice. Although we planned our day, still feel like a bit rushing trying to see all the shows in one day. Do it in two days would have been more relaxing. Maybe next time we visit San Diego.

My family including my daughter, daughter in law and grandchildren recently spent a wonderful day at SeaWorld San Diego. Our little ones, ages 2 1/2 and 1, really enjoyed getting up close to the animals, especially the penguins. They also enjoyed the tidepools where touching is allowed. The Sesame Street rides and play area are also perfect for toddlers.

Sea World San Diego was so much fun! The shows were awesome! We bought the all-inclusive, but didn’t need it. Although the day we went was mid-week, so maybe that was the difference. The kids only rode two rides and really only wanted to stop long enough to eat once and then snack, but our all day dining didn’t cover the cotton candy and popcorn. Reserved seating opened up to everyone once the show started. If you’re thinking about doing the dolphin encounter - it is totally worth the cost for 15 min of up-close time with those magnificent creatures. Definitely the highlight of our visit.

"Good visit and the kids enjoyed the rides"

We purchased advance tickets to save money - I recommend this as we didn't have any issues with the tickets I printed at home. My kids enjoyed the two roller coasters (main attractions) and other rides, and my wife enjoyed the dolphin and whale shows. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely ride the two water rides first and change into dry clothes afterwards. My plan was to do the opposite, but the longer you wait into the day, the longer the lines get for the rides where water is involved. So rather than wait 90 minutes to ride, we just changed back into our shorts and didn't use our bathing suits. Other than that miscalculation, everything else went about according to plan. The food is expensive. We would have packed food in our bag, but the policy says it is not allowed and bags are inspected. This is not enforced. They do look inside your bag, but not aggressively for food. We saw many people inside the park who brought in their own food and drink. Should have done that myself if I would have known! Also don't forget that your car doesn't get to enjoy the park, but still has to pay $20 to park. Disappointing that they charge for parking on top of the steep entry fee.
