It's a perfect way to see the La Jolla Cove and Sea Caves on a kayak for two. We visited in August when it was Leopard Shark season and rented snorkel gear after our kayak tour to take advantage of one of the top ten snorkeling spots in the world.

Description

from Original La Jolla Kayak Tour
Explore the Seven Sea Caves and kayak through three of the four microhabitats present in the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. You’ll watch sea lions sunbathing on the rocks and swimming in the sanctuary. Bright orange garibaldi standout among the vibrant green sea grass and numerous other fish swim around delighting the eye. You might even see dolphins cruising alongside your kayak before you make your way back and prepare to surf your kayak back to shore. Throughout the summer months, you’ll see the biggest Leopard Shark Aggregation in the world. In the winter, witness Gray Whales on their annual migration from Alaska to Baja California. Memorable experiences await you. Entry into Emerald Cave depends upon the safety of the conditions and is just one small part of this amazing tour. Regardless of entering or not, you'll have a great time!

Tour runs every day of the year (EXCEPT Christmas day and the 4th of July) as long as conditions permit/safety.

I booked a Kayak and Snorkel tour with Everyday California, and they were so helpful when I arrived to check in. The rental equipment there was in great condition and functional. Danielle was a great guide! She made sure everyone in the group felt safe and gave us great info about marine life and the history of La Jolla. It was so much fun and the conditions were absolutely perfect (In November!). Highly recommend.

This tour is pretty terrible value if the sea isn't calm. We were pushed out to sea one by one to sit and wait at a buoy for 15 mins. Then paddled 5 mins further up. Sat for another 20 mins while told a load of boring stories. Then told to paddle back (didn't even tell us we weren't going in the cave or why?!), sat their for longer listening to more stories, then paddled back to shore. Waste of money and time. Saw no wildlife and didn't go in the caves. I would echo other reviews and say get your own kayak and skip this waste of money. We had Alyssa and Nate who were okay, wouldn't recommend them. When telling us the boring stories speaking too quietly so couldn't even hear. Oh, was also paid for a wetsuit to be given one with a hole in the bum, not good.
